Employers
Contribute to the aims set out in this strategy by becoming a member of the e-skills NTO, by offering opinions, and by supporting projects of particular interest:
-
Membership:
by supporting the work of the NTO with an annual fee, employer members become part of the organisation's information network.
-
Opinions:
the NTO regularly seeks opinions to guide policy on skills matters. Examples include contributions to the national Skills Foresight survey for IT, or giving views on how to attract the best new recruits into IT-related careers.
-
Projects:
employers become actively involved in projects of specific interest to them. Project support ranges from membership of a Steering Group which offers guidance to a project team, through to hosting Government briefings or advising on educational curricula.
Educators
- colleges, universities and training providers
Become a member and contribute to e-skills projects, for example:
-
Hosting events:
e.g. employer-led workshops to encourage people into IT-related careers.
-
Collaborating on curricula:
working with employers on curricula updates and flexible learning options, particularly linking education with practical experience in the workplace.
-
Industry knowledge:
taking an interest in IT-related careers and understanding employer needs, including working with employers to communicate industry information better to young people.
Government and Agencies
Support the e-skills agenda through:
-
Funding:
providing strategic funding to deliver sustainable change and direct funding for priority programmes to improve e-skills in the UK.
-
Publicity and facilitation:
helping to raise awareness, through media and other routes, and mobilising parties to work together to deliver this strategy.
