e-skills NTO, the industry representative in respect of training and development issues, has played a leading part in the development and production of a Working in IT series for the BBC 2 Learning Zone which will be broadcast during 30 October 24 November. Work on the series began at the beginning of the year and a number of e-skills NTO members helped to shape the form and content of the programmes.
The BBC Learning Zone provides a nightly learning service which aims to get individuals in or on within a specific sector. The Working in IT series has something for everyone - from information about career opportunities - to the history of computing - to tips on running a business. Viewers can watch live, but most, (bearing in mind the 5 am start time), are likely to opt for the record and play option.
The Working in IT schedule involves two weeks of programmes which are repeated during a four week broadcasting period.
Karen Price, CEO, e-skills NTO: "e-skills NTO was delighted to lead this project on behalf of the Strategic Group of ITEC NTOs. My colleagues and I value the opportunity to work with broadcasting organisations in order to maximise the potential for promoting careers in IT."
