The NTO is employer led with strong representative boards of employers and key stakeholders for each of the three communities it represents. These Boards include line executives from some of the UK’s leading companies, as shown below.

The aims of these three boards are as follows:

• For the IT industry: to improve the IT industry’s global competitiveness by focusing on the rapid attainment of world-class skills
• For UK Businesses: to increase the strategic exploitation of technology by companies in all sectors, by addressing the skills needs of their professional IT staffs
• For the UK Workforce: to increase the general IT competence of the population, to improve employability and contribution to the economy
