Understanding the Future

Promoting all-discipline recruitment into IT

Helping employers reach new graduate talent pools
We asked nearly 2,500 employers, students and careers staff how we could best encourage non-IT students to consider IT careers. View the results of that survey by clicking on Research Report to download a full copy of the document (in PDF format). It contains some fascinating information about what today’s students want from a career and where they first look for information.

As a result, if you recruit from non-IT disciplines, we can now offer brand new (and free) channels for getting your message across to students and encouraging targeted applications from well-informed individuals. You can:

  • Ensure that students really understand your business by contributing to our labour market survey and spelling out your recruitment needs on our new website.
  • Show students what they can really expect from an IT career in your organisation by providing graduate case studies or profiles of your typical projects
  • Meet students and graduates by joining our careers stand at autumn and summer recruitment fairs
  • Provide information on other opportunities (work experience, campus presentations etc) for students to get to know you
  • Gain access to the careers staff who advise students through regional and national events organised for you
  • Contribute to an information resource that includes recruiter tips, answers to FAQs and an IT jargon buster
  • Share your industry knowledge in an online forum enabling Careers Advisers to get up to date information from recruiters

Want to join us?
Our partners include IBM, Accenture, PWC and Goldman Sachs and over 60 other companies from multi-national to SME that recruit graduates from non-IT degrees. Contributing to this project will cost you nothing and you have everything to gain.
