GNVQ (General National Vocational Qualification) /Vocational A levels in IT
What is the IT GNVQ?
The IT GNVQ is a general vocational qualification taught in schools, sixth form and FE colleges. It is designed to lay the broad foundation of skills and knowledge required for employment in the IT industry. Students can take an IT GNVQ as a stand-alone course or in conjunction with other vocational or academic qualifications such as NVQs, GCSEs or A & AS levels. There are 3 levels of qualification:

Foundation level entry requirements at age 16 None

Intermediate level entry requirements at age 16 GCSEs at grades D-G

Vocation A level entry requirements at age 16 4 GCSEs at grades A-C
